Wern Valley Sportsman’s Club

Located in Waukesha, WI

Home of such notable events as the annual Miler Lite, and past Wisconsin State Championships, WV is a great place to shoot if you’re in the northern IL, or southern WI area.

I was in town for the Hope for Huntington’s Shoot held at Northbrook Sports Club, so Tim and Tom Dever, and I decided to drive up to shoot a round of clays, and maybe a 5-Stand.

I love this place. It’s clean, it’s well run, the targets are fun, and it’s really like being at a nice golf course rather than a sporting clays range (if you own a sporting clays range, and want to know what your club should look like, stop by WV).

After a quick check-in, we rented a cart, and hit the course. They were getting ready for next week’s Miller Lite, so there was a ton of work going on. We shot the main course, and had fun. Part of the fun were the friendly people we met out on the range. The targets the day we were there were not overly difficult, but still challenging.

Afterwards we finished up on the elevated 5-stand. The guys in front of us were a crack up. They were having fun, and enjoying the day. Kinda like sporting clays should be.

If you’re in town for any reason, don’t miss a chance to shoot at Wern Valley, I don’t.
